TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences after a daylight raid on a flat in Malvern Link.

The men, one aged 37 and from the Malvern area, and the other aged 24 from Birmingham, have not yet been charged, and have been released on police bail until September 4.

The raid happened early yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon and passers-by saw police officers accompanied by a dog entering the flat, above an empty shop premises, formerly a hairdresser, in Richmond Road, just off the main road junction in the Link.

A spokesman said that, although no drugs were discovered on the premises, drug paraphernalia, including scales and wrapping materials, were seized.

An amount of cash, thought to be in the region of hundreds of pounds, was also confiscated.

Seven officers took part in the raid, including a dog handler with a dog trained to detect drugs.
