A TEENAGER was taken to hospital after getting into the river in Upton-upon-Severn.
Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service was called by the police just after 7pm yesterday to the River Severn by the Swan Hotel, Waterside, after reports of a girl in the river and a man who had gone in after her.
A boat crew from Evesham and Worcester along with a water rescue crew from Upton attended but the two people were out of the water by the time they arrived.
An ambulance, a paramedic and a rapid response vehicle were also called and the girl, thought to be in her late teens, was taken to Worcester Royal Hospital as a precaution.
