A CONCERT by a nationally renowned choir will help raise funds to erect a statue of Worcestershire cricket legend Basil D’Oliveira.
The Basil D’Oliveira Foundation welcomes the Carlton Male Voice Choir to Worcester's Huntingdon Hall on Saturday, June 7 in support of their aim to commission a bronze statue of the England international who died in November 2011 at the age of 80.
World famous sculptor John McKenna will be tasked with creating the life-size tribute and Worcestershire County Cricket Club have agreed for the statue to be erected outside the front entrance of the Premier Inn hotel at the ground.
The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £12.50 (concessions £11.50).
