A UNIQUE theatre company is returning to its hometown to bring the curtain down on an award-winning tour.

Vamos Theatre, who are based at the Worcester Arts Workshop, presents Finding Joy for the final time at the Swan Theatre on Wednesday and Thursday, June 11-12 at the end of its latest 53-date tour.

Finding Joy is a piece of full mask theatre based on a true story and inspired by one family’s remarkable and unconventional experience of dementia.

The show has received eight five-star reviews nationwide and was also a winner of an Argus Angel Award at the Brighton Festival and Fringe, which is an award that recognises artistic excellence during the month-long festival.

Artistic director Rachael Savage said: “Finding Joy has been received incredibly positively on both its recent tours, and we’re very proud of our reviews and our Argus Angel award.

"We’re delighted to be finishing the tour here in Worcester, where we’ll get the chance to celebrate the success of the show with our friends and supporters. ”

While dementia is a tough, often heart-breaking condition, the company's production encourages people to remember the person beyond the dementia, and shows how positive caring can make a world of difference to everyone facing it.

The shows start at 7.30pm and tickets are £13 (concessions £11).
