A SUPERMARKET was closed after an elderly man was found in a critical condition.
Two ambulances and police officers were called to Malvern's Waitrose where paramedics administered advanced life support to the man.
He was then taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
The man was believed to have collapsed while shopping at the supermarket in Great Malvern.
The store was closed from about 10.45am but reopened a couple of hours later.
A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said: "We were called at 10.20am to a medical emergency on Edith Walk in Malvern.
"Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene.
"Upon arrival, we found an elderly man in critical condition.
"Ambulance staff administered advanced life support to him at the scene.
"He was conveyed to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further treatment."
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "This was a medical episode, nothing criminal."
